Terms of Service
The short version: study for your own use, keep your scores honest, and you can cancel Premium whenever you like. The free trial needs a card and turns into a subscription unless you cancel before it ends. The detail is below.
1. About these terms
QuantMax (“QuantMax”, “we”, “us”) is operated by QuantMax. These terms apply whenever you use quantmax.org, whether or not you have an account. By creating an account or starting a subscription you agree to them, and to our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 16 to create an account. If you are under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian to start a trial or buy a subscription.
2. What QuantMax is, and is not
QuantMax is study material and practice for quantitative finance interviews: lessons, questions with worked solutions, timed drills and screening tests, games and mock papers.
- We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or recruiting for any firm named on the site. Firm names describe publicly reported interview patterns and nothing more.
- We do not promise any interview, offer or job. How you do in a real process depends on you and on the firm.
- Nothing on QuantMax is financial, investment or trading advice. The markets, prices and games are teaching material.
- We check our material carefully, but it can contain mistakes. If you find one, please tell us.
3. Your account
- Give accurate details, and keep your password to yourself.
- An account is for one person. Do not share it, sell it, or let others use it — scores and profiles are personal, and so is a subscription.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
4. Free plan, free trial and Premium
The free plan includes the free lessons, every mental arithmetic drill, the screening tests and a sample of the question bank. Premium adds the rest.
The free trial. New accounts can take one 7-day free trial of Premium. It needs a valid payment card, entered on our payment provider’s secure page. Nothing is charged when the trial starts. When it ends, your subscription begins and the card is charged the price shown at checkout, unless you cancel before the trial ends. One trial per person: we may decline or end a trial taken through duplicate accounts.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. Prices are shown at checkout, and any tax that applies is included or added as shown there.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from Premium → Manage billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for, or until the end of the trial.
Refunds. We do not refund part-used periods, except where the law requires it or where these terms say so. If something has gone wrong with a charge, email support@quantmax.org and we will look at it.
Price changes apply from your next renewal, and we will tell you by email at least 14 days before. If you do not want to continue at the new price, cancel before it applies.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, our payment provider retries it for a period. If it cannot be collected, the subscription ends and the account returns to the free plan. Your progress is kept either way.
Referral weeks are complimentary Premium time for inviting new members. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and are not earned through your own or fake accounts. We may change or end the referral programme; weeks already earned are honoured.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
5. Scores, leaderboards and public profiles
Timed runs are scored on our servers so that results are comparable. A score is only meaningful if it is your own unaided work, so you must not use bots, scripts, other people or tools that answer for you, and must not interfere with the timer or the scoring.
We may remove scores, leaderboard entries or public profiles that we reasonably believe are not genuine, and suspend accounts that keep doing it.
Your profile is private unless you make it public. What you put on a public profile — your handle, name, headline, university and links — must be accurate and your own, must not impersonate anyone, and must not be offensive or unlawful. We may change a handle or hide a profile that breaks this.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- copy, scrape, republish or sell our lessons, questions, solutions or other material, or use them to build a competing product or to train a model;
- get around the paywall, the free-plan limits or any security measure;
- overload, probe or disrupt the service, or access accounts or data that are not yours;
- use QuantMax for anything unlawful, or to harass anyone.
7. Our content and your data
The lessons, questions, solutions, generators, games and design of QuantMax belong to us or our licensors. While your account is in good standing we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own study.
Your answers, progress and notes are yours. You can export them from Settings at any time. How we handle them is set out in the Privacy Policy.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve QuantMax without owing you anything for it.
8. Changes to the service
We add, improve and sometimes retire material and features, and the service may be unavailable now and then for maintenance. If we remove something that is a significant part of what a paid subscription offers, we will tell you, and you may cancel and ask for a refund of the unused part of the current period.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using QuantMax at any time. To delete your account and its data, email support@quantmax.org from the address on the account. Cancel any subscription first so it does not renew.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. If we close an account without such a reason, we will refund the unused part of any paid period.
10. Your rights under consumer law, and our liability
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or the consumer laws of the country you live in, which cannot be excluded. Under the Australian Consumer Law, our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded.
To the extent the law allows: QuantMax is provided as it is; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as a lost opportunity or lost income; and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to supplying the service again or refunding what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you — for example to billing — we will tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using QuantMax after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and its courts can hear any dispute about them. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place you live.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms: support@quantmax.org, or use the feedback form when you are signed in.
