Privacy Policy

QuantMax is operated by QuantMax (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at support@quantmax.org.

Your account. Your email address and password, and a name if you give one. Your password is stored only in hashed form by our sign-in provider; we never see it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.

Your profile, if you fill it in. A handle, display name, headline, university, graduation year, LinkedIn address, whether your profile is public, and whether you are open to opportunities. All of it is optional.

Your learning activity. The answers you give and how they were marked, time taken, practice sessions and mock papers, lessons you have read, bookmarks, notes, settings, and timed runs of the screening tests and games with their scores.

Billing. If you start a trial or subscribe, your card details are entered on Stripe’s page and go to Stripe, not to us. We keep the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, the subscription’s status and the dates Premium started and ends.

Referrals. Your invite code, which accounts joined through it, and the rewards earned.

Feedback. Anything you send through the feedback form, its category and the page you sent it from.

Usage analytics. We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics: the page visited (without anything after the “?” in the address), the site that referred you, your country, and your device and browser type. It uses no cookies and does not follow you to other sites. Our hosting provider also keeps short-lived technical logs, including IP addresses, to run and protect the service.

• Sign-in cookies keep you signed in. They are essential; without them the account features cannot work.
• A referral cookie (quantmax_referral) is set only if you follow someone’s invite link, so that the invite can be credited when you sign up. It lasts 30 days.
• Browser storage remembers your light or dark theme and the study path you last chose.

We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

• to run your account and keep your progress, review queue and scores;
• to mark answers, rank scores and show the leaderboard and profiles you choose;
• to take payments, manage trials and subscriptions, and credit referrals;
• to send the emails the service needs: confirming your address, resetting your password, and, from Stripe, receipts and trial reminders;
• to answer feedback and support requests;
• to prevent cheating, fraud and abuse, and to keep the service secure;
• to understand, in aggregate, which parts of QuantMax are used, so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not send marketing email.

Nothing, unless you choose. Your profile is private until you give it a handle and turn on “Make my profile public”.

A public profile shows your handle, display name, headline, university, graduation year, LinkedIn link and “open to opportunities” badge if you set them, your best scores and where they rank, and a summary of your practice: questions answered, accuracy, days practised, mock papers and accuracy by study path. The leaderboard lists public profiles only, with handle, display name, university and best score. Your email address is never shown.

If your profile is private, your best scores still count, anonymously, towards the percentages and ranks other players see, but nothing identifies you.

You can make your profile private again at any time, and it disappears at once.

We use a small number of service providers, who process data only to provide their service to us:

• Supabase — our database and sign-in. Your account and learning data are stored on its servers in the United States.
• Vercel — hosts the website and provides the page-view analytics.
• Stripe — payments, trials, subscriptions and billing emails. Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy.
• Our email delivery provider — sends account emails such as confirmations and password resets.
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.

Because these providers store and process data in the United States and elsewhere, your information may be handled outside the country you live in. We choose providers that protect it to a standard comparable to Australian privacy law.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the service. We have no arrangement with any trading firm or recruiter, and do not give them your information.

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and the data attached to it within 30 days.

Billing and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which can be several years. Page-view analytics are kept only in aggregate. Technical logs are kept for a short period.

• See and take your data: Settings → export downloads your progress and answers as a file.
• Correct it: change your name, email and password in Settings, and your profile on the Profile page.
• Hide your profile by turning off “Make my profile public”.
• Clear your learning history from Settings.
• Delete your account: email support@quantmax.org from the address on the account.

You can also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom you also have the rights to restrict or object to processing and to data portability; we rely on the contract with you to provide the service, and on our legitimate interest in keeping it secure and improving it.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, or the data protection authority where you live.

Everything travels over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed by our sign-in provider, access to data is checked on the server for every request, and card details never reach our systems. No service can promise perfect security, but if we become aware of a breach that is likely to harm you, we will tell you.

QuantMax is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

We will update this policy when what we collect or how we use it changes. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
